About Alan
My attention was first brought to the Alexander Technique in 1986, when I thought I had exhausted all possibilities into my search for relief from chronic back pain, a condition that was then dominating my life. Following the usual avenues of both orthodox & complementary medicine, I reluctantly agreed to spinal surgery and was left without a lifeline when this failed to produce a positive result.
Then someone suggested I have a look at the Alexander Technique.
Over 20 years later, and with 18 of those spent teaching the Technique, I am as fascinated by its application as ever.
I completed my 3 year training as a Teacher in South Devon U.K & emigrated to Australia in 1993 with my two sons.
My interests revolve mainly around the ocean and music, & I surf most days. I still ride a shortboard, and enjoy playing guitar with friends.
